I took this picture on a recent visit to Tel Aviv. The stenciled words above the face are what compelled me. They read, “Ein lanu koach, rak shirim.” As a musician I’m intrigued by the message. Sometimes things are lost in translation and street art in Israel is often laden with specific cultural resonances. But they way I translate this message is basically this: We’ve got no power, only songs.
